Time to Put Focus Back on the People

With the House of Respresentatives clearly defining its position on how to proced with investigation of Bank Century scandal, all the politicking surrounding the controversy needs to stop.

President Susilo Bambany Yudhoyono, Vice President Boediono, Golkar chairman Aburizal Bakrie and Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) head Megawati Soekarnoputri have all aggreed that the country's law-enforcement agencies should take charge of a fllow-up probe and be allowed to do their job independently.

Clearly, it's time to set the record straight in the bank Century case-punish the wrongdores and leave those found innocent alone. For months, the controversy sucked the energy out of our country and distracted our leaders from attending ti issues what were more relevant to the education system, a better national healt care structure and the assurance that the rule of law was fairly enforced.

The Bank Century case has had it share of attention, but it's now time to focus on and serve a democratic country's primary needs-the people's need.
